As of yesterday, consumers can now get their hands on one of a couple inaugural Windows Phone 7 phones at AT&T and T-Mobile stores in the US and Canada. But the key question is if consumers are actually interested.

We already know that businesses are interested, with Dell’s recent announcement that they will shift employees off of BlackBerries in favor of their own Venue Pro. Although it’s pretty clear that Dell made this move due to them now directly competing with RIM in the smartphone space. But it also shows the appeal for organizations to integrate enterprise wide with Windows Phone 7.

There was a brief report of the HTC HD7 being sold out online on T-Mobile’s website, but as of this morning it now appears to be restocked.

Within the next week or so, we should have a clearer picture into how popular (or not) Windows Phone 7 based phones are here in the US.
