Various reports on the web suggest PC manufacturers a plenty will be unveiling their signature tablet computers at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which starts tomorrow.

Companies rumored to release tablets include RIM, Motorola, Acer, Asus, HP, Toshiba and, believe it or not Vizio. That’s right, the famed economically priced HDTV manufacturer. Vizio is also expected to showcase it’s first smartphone into the seemingly crowded market. Both their tab and phone will be running on the Android OS.

If all of this sounds like a little too much “tablet fever” to you, I agree. Surely manufacturers are trying to gain a foothold on the this growing CE segment, but it’ll be interesting to see how they all plan on differentiating themselves.

In the end, having a deluge of tablets in the marketplace will ultimately lead to more selection and lower prices for consumers. And that’s a good thing.
