The smart watch revolution has started. With the announcement of Samsung’s highly anticipated smartwatch, the Galaxy Gear brings the start of the smart watch revolution. The future is bright, with features that include everything from fitness pulse trackers to inter-connectivity between your watch and phone. Let’s take a look at three of the top watches for 2013…

Samsung Galaxy gear
Samsung’s take on the smart watch market is its exclusive Galaxy Gear; featuring a square-ish watch face with a 1.63-inch amoled display. The quick list of features is a pedometer, stopwatch, timer, ability to play music, and much more. The device at launch will only work with the upcoming Note 3, but that could easily be changed.

SmartWatch 2
Sony was one of the first companies to announce the smartwatch and just recently announced their second generation into the market, SmartWatch 2. Sony’s Smartwatch 2 has a 1.6inch touchscreen display and is made of Aluminum for the body and silicon for the wrist band. The Sony Smartwatch 2 can be connected to your smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth or NFC and can be used to access various different functions from the watch itself.

Pebble
The Pebble is a smartwatch founded on Kickstarter, a crowd-sourcing platform that helps to raise money for future products. Despite its long development period and setbacks, the pebble watch demonstrates just how useful wearable computers can be, and has put the smart watch market into full throttle.
