Well, I have been wrong before so I guess it’s no surprise that I would be wrong again. This time, I think I may have sounded too soon the death knell of the eReader. You see, I figured that once Apple came into the category with the iPad, the other participants might consider it high time to vamoose. Man, was I wrong.
Just look around these days and you can’t help but notice that you have the Kindle in the market with a new, attractive price point. Barnes & Noble is aggressively marketing (and marking down) their Nook. Pocketbook is planning to launch five new devices in a few weeks from now. The Sharper Image is aiming for an October launch of the Literati eReader while Copia is planning for an introduction of their e-reader sometime this fall. And it is currently rumored that the good people at Sony are prepping to introduce two new versions of their popular e-book reader.
Alright, I missed that one. While I may have thought the eReader was on its way out – clearly there is ample evidence that the opposite is true! Could there be an eReader in your upcoming purchasing plans?
